Christmas Tree at Chester Cathedral

The Ellesmere Port C of E College were thrilled to be invited to dress a Christmas Tree at Chester Cathedral last week.  We joined over 40 other organisations and our tree is on display in the Cloisters.

Over 150 of our pupils took part designing notes on the tree.  Some wrote thoughts and prayers, others Bible Verses, and others drew traditional Christmas artwork.  In addition the Art and Design team also made decorations for the tree which are proudly on display.

While Mr Shelton was putting up the tree he was able to chat to a number of the public about key messages, and even had some toddlers enjoy helping decorate the tree.

Chester Cathedral welcomes more than 50,000 visitors throughout the month of December – so our participation shows the active nature of our school and the pupils within it.  In 2017, the Cathedral Christmas Trees helped raise £11,500 for the Ultrasound Breast Cancer Scanner Appeal at The Countess of Chester Hospital.
