Students and staff from the new Ellesmere Port C of E College, located in the heart of the town, welcome Mrs Cath Green as the new Interim Principal.

Mrs Green joins the college with extensive experience of school leadership having led her previous school from Inadequate to Good at its most recent Ofsted inspection.

The new college unveiled its name in December last year and was the first school to join the Frank Field Education Trust (FFET). The Trust formed with the explicit intention of delivering world-class education through academic excellence, a rich curriculum and wider opportunities for all children. FFET is chaired by the Rt Hon Frank Field MP, and its vision of ‘Social Justice through Excellence in Education’ ensures that no child is left behind, regardless of background.

Mrs C Green, Interim Principal at The Ellesmere Port C of E College said: “I am honoured to be leading the college at the start of its transformational journey with the Frank Field Education Trust. My vision is for the college to be recognised as the best locally, nationally and globally. With the support of the trust we will offer an aspirational and rich curriculum for all children which will allow them to be the best that they can and I am excited to embark on that journey with them.â€

Mr Tom Quinn, Chief Executive Officer at Frank Field Education Trust said: “We are delighted to welcome Mrs Green as the Interim Principal at the college. The significant backing of the Frank Field Education Trust as a formal partner provides an exciting opportunity, which will enable the college to grow and flourish. I feel that, together, we can very quickly establish the College as a place where all children can learn and achieve and a College second to none in the heart of the community and beyond.â€
