New Ellesmere Port College joins the Young Chambers Programme

Young Chamber welcomes The Ellesmere Port C of E College | West Cheshire and North Wales Chamber of Commerce

The West Cheshire & North Wales Chamber of Commerce is delighted to welcome The Ellesmere Port C of E College as a Young Chamber member.

The College delivers first class education, in a brand state of the art building, using new technologies to support and enrich the learning experience and curriculum. This rich combination ensures that they are able to prepare all of their students for the challenges of the future.

“We are very excited to have joined the Young Chamber programme. Careers advice and guidance is very much at the forefront of the College’s plans to ensure that all our students achieve the best they can be. Our students should understand how they can use their learning to support their future career pathways” said Kelly Silverlock, KS5 Coordinator & Careers Lead at the College.

By becoming a Young Chamber member, The Ellesmere Port C of E College will now be supported by the Young Chamber programme’s Sponsors on a variety of events. This could vary from careers talks or interview days, to interactive workshops and enterprise projects.

Kelly continued “Being part of the Young Chamber will allow our students to gain access to local and national employment and business opportunities. We encourage students and parents alike to research the many opportunities that are available once they have finished their education, whatever pathways this may take, University, apprenticeships or employment. We very much look forward to developing our partnership with the Young Chamber in the future and the further opportunities that this may bring”

The Young Chamber programme is all part of the West Cheshire & North Wales Chamber of Commerce’s aim to tackle the skills gap that currently exists between the education and business sectors. By bringing firms closer to their local schools and colleges, it is hoped that students can the skills and experience needed to succeed in the world of work.

On the news of The Ellesmere Port C of E College joining the Young Chamber programme, Debbie Bryce, Chief Executive Officer at the Chamber, said “Our aim is to help students become ready for when the enter the workplace whilst making them more aware of opportunities in their local area. We are so glad the The Ellesmere Port C of E College has joined the programme and we are looking forward to supporting them going forward.”
