The Frank Field Education Trust (FFET) is a Multi Academy Trust (MAT) formed with the explicit intention of delivering world-class education: academic excellence, a rich curriculum and wider opportunities to all children, including the most disadvantaged in our society, to promote social justice. Everyone involved with the Frank Field Education Trust shares a deep commitment to achievement and learning, and the belief that progress at other schools can be accelerated to end disadvantage by partnering with Outstanding schools. The opportunity to have the significant backing of the Frank Field Education Trust as a formal partner is exciting and will enable schools to flourish. As an Academy within the Frank Field Education Trust, schools will particularly benefit from the Trust’s access to services that will improve the support we can offer to all pupils and families and also from the opportunity to work with like-minded people who want the best for children and young people in Cheshire and the North West.
FFET plans to grow to 10-15 schools within the first three years of existence, this growth will be achieved through Free Schools, convertor and sponsored academies, initially in the Liverpool city region, and surrounding area. The Trust will operate across the North West, where the Trust Directors and the executive team have a strong understanding of the local context: specifically developing a Liverpool/ Wirral hub and a Cheshire/ Manchester hub.
Approved as an academy sponsor by the RSC for Lancashire & West Yorkshire in June 2016, FFET had its first Free School, a 4-11 school in Liverpool, approved in Wave 11. In autumn 2018 the first primary convertor academy will join the Trust, shortly to be followed by a number of other sponsored and convertor academies. Details of these announcements can be seen on our New page.
