Students visit Trinity Methodist to support local Food Bank

The Ellesmere Port C of E College were pleased to support the Wednesday Welcome weekly event at Trinity Methodist Church. TEPCEC students previously visited during the Autumn Term and were delighted to be back serving the local community of Ellesmere Port, especially those in need.

Two Christian Value Representatives, Zac Diamond (Year 9) and Sam-Lewis Cleary (Year 7) accompanied the Chaplain, Mr Anderson in assisting and serving the Port Grocery. This is an ongoing event in our school programme and numerous Year 7 to 9 Christian Value Representatives will have the opportunity to participate in this venture.

Zac commented: “It was really good to be using skills to assist those who need our help.”

Students have been involved in handing out items of food and clothing and completed training on serving hot food and beverages. So far the college has contributed over 130 separate items of non-perishable food to the local foodbank project.

Mr Anderson said: “It is humbling to be a part of this service. We are called to show the love of Christ in looking after those less fortunate and we have been included so well by Nigel and his team.” The next scheduled visit is on Wednesday 6th February 2018.
