On Tuesday 12 February, 93 Year 10 students attended the University of Chester for a ‘taster’ day.

The year group attended University-style lectures in English, Drama and Archaeology and also attended a seminar on Student Finance.

During the visit the students were given a tour of the campus and shown around by University Student Ambassadors. This gave the students the opportunity to find out first-hand what life is like as a university student.

Year 10 College student, Kelsie, spoke about her experience of the day: “The University was very welcoming. I found the lectures really interesting and learnt new things, especially about Archaeology. The visit has now made me think about my career choices and going to university in the future”.

Another student, Kai, stated “I feel that the day allowed us to have a positive experience and outlook on university, especially the finance side of it. It made me realise that it is more affordable for everyone. The day improved my opinion of university life and now I am more likely to choose to go in the future”.
